Provides a detailed documentation of the design certification of the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP), Flight System 1. Defines the basic design requirements of ALSEP. Then describes the design of the ALSEP Electrical Power Subsystem, the Central Station, and the ALSEP 1 experiment instruments. Includes testing data. ALSEP operations requirements are discussed.
