Abstract
The ion microprobe at the Johnson Space Center was used to study depth profiles of artificially implanted ions in lunar samples. Five polished sections of typical mare basalts (12040 and 12018) were irradiated with nine different elements at two energies and the resulting concentrations were measured as a function of depth in the minerals plagioclase, pyroxene, and ilmenite.
