Abstract
In this paper, simple hydrostatic concepts are extended to synthesize results from experimental petrology, lunar chronology, thermal history models, seismology, and gravity. Explanations of several heretofore unrelated features of lunar crustal structure and mare volcanism follow logically from these concepts.
