dc.description.abstract A detailed petrographic investigation of the Apollo 15 deep drill core soils has been carried out in the > 250 μm size fraction with a view to characterize their provenance. Each of the 9700 photographically documented particles in 100 thin sections of soil samples from 36 out of the 42 mesoscopically identifiable stratigraphic units has been characterized microscopically. en
